Charlton appoint director of football

Jeff Vetere, who formerly worked with youth teams at The Valley and has most recently been Aston Villa's chief scout, has returned to Charlton as director of football: Vetere

He also had four months at Real Madrid which seems to have been the highlight of his career. What his role at Charlton will be remains to be seen.

Newcastle UnitedVetere was appointed Technical Co-ordinator January 29, 2008 together with Dennis Wise as Executive Director (Football) and Tony Jimenez as Vice President (Player Recruitment) to complete a continental-style management structure working to assist Kevin Keegan. Wise and Vetere was responsible for making the initial assessment before calling in Jimenez to do the deal.[3] Jimenez left the club October 9, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Keegan and Wise further left April 1, 2009. I believe Jeff was our 'continental scout' in the AC days. Can he bring some young talent to the Valley? I hope so.
