Charlton fell back to 8th in League 1 after a 3-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town today. They were certainly in the game in the first half and McCormack came close. But with Elliot not available in goal because of back trouble, the Terriers put two goals past debutante keeper Ross Worner just before the break. It's difficult to come back from 2-0 down away at somewhere like Huddersfield.
The Terriers scored a third in the second half and it was Matt Fry, who had come on in the 88th minute, who got Charlton's consolation in time added on.
Charlton had almosr as much possession as Huddersfield but only one shot on target in the whole game and nine off target. They did have more corners (six to four) but making use of them is not one of the side's strengths.
Elsewhere, Luke Varney scored his first Premiership goal in Blackpool's 2-2 draw with Fulham. Lisbie and Mooney also found the back of the net.
