Swindon anxious to strengthen squad

As they face up with some trepidation to a meeting with 'big club' Charlton, Swindon are hoping to take emergency measures to shore up their squad: Swindon

"Big club" Charlton are playing at the level of "little clubs," as witnessed by the past few matches, so I'm not sure Swindon should have too many concerns, if they just go out and play their game.

"Some trepidation" - is this a wind-up, Wyn?! Swindon have just beaten Leeds 3 - 0, and in Paynter and Austin Swindon have one of the league's most potent front partnerships, whereas Charlton have been struggling to draws of late, playing quite poorly. Win their games in hand, and Swindon will be ahead of Charlton, with a healthier state of finances and plans to develop the County Ground. I read your blog avidly, despite being a Swindon supporter (!), but please don't patronise a club currently aiming higher than yourselves.

Well, Jamie, we have to keep our spirits up somehow. Interesting to hear that Swindon is in a good state financially, much to be desired, and there are plans to upgrade the County Ground. 4-4-2 was running interesting articles on Swindon, but I haven't seen one recently.

It occured to me afterwards that tongue may have been in cheek, apologies for any offence caused! Are you coming down to the game on Saturday? I used to go to university in Coventry, and can recommend the lovely drive down through the Cotswolds - it makes up for watching 3 - 0 home defeats to the Chairboys (I speak from bitter experience...)

I know it's a lovely drive through the Cotswolds, I have done it more than once, but unfortunately I can't make it tomorrow as I have a great deal of work on at the moment.
