Reports are suggesting that Darren Ambrose is to sign a loan deal with Ipswich tomorrow which may subsequently become permanent. The Tractors have also expressed an interest in ex-Charlton player Hermann Hreidarsson.
Ambrose's advocates would say that he has been all too rarely played in his best position, in the hole behind two strikers. However, I have seen too many half chances wasted and too many tackles conceded to think that his departure would be a major blow to Charlton.
There is no news of any movement in the other direction.

The real question for any player is "how does he help the team he plays for to win football matches?". That may seem obvious but it is not. Some players flatter to deceive whilst others are much more important that often appears to be the case. Ambrose undoubtedly has a lot of ability but he simply doesn't make the team more effective, wherever he plays. In my view we'll be better off without him even if he is not replaced. I'm surprised it has taken so long. Perhaps Pards is beginning to bite the bullet.
Please be true. He has his good moments (too rarely) but I am convinced 100% that the team will be better off without him in it.
This is the best news I have heard in the last 3 years. Now we will have 11 players on the pitch ( not 10 as it always was with Ambrose) . He is the worst kind of player because he has talent , but never quite gets on the end of anything, he's never quite available to receive a pass, he never quite gets a tackle in , he never quite manages to close down the winger/fullback who is crossing into our box. He saps the energy from the whole team . Good luck to Ipswich . He either won't play there or if he does , they will start losing /underperforming too.
It should be Charlton who are looking at Big Herman. While a tad long in the tooth and presently consigned to the bench, he played some exceptional football for Portsmouth last season and could provide a major boost for a struggling Charlton side.
Rumour is CAFC are looking at Herman! We certainly need far more consistency from Youga and less of his odd moments, his goal will help him.
First constructive news for a while. Pards is publicly craving for experience currently and it has coincided with DA being in the team more often. Which has been a bad experience! Note a better performance at Plymouth when he did not figure.
Ambrose has now completed a two month loan but there is nothing in place to make the deal permanent.
Ipswich will have first refusal on his services in January.
Judgement on whether the loan is good for the club must be reserved until we see how the replacement(s) brought in perform.
