Chris Iwelumo is to join Wolves. The Scottish press is reporting a fee of £1m, others say £900,000, but in any event it is above the club's valuation of £700,000. Iwelumo replaces Freddy Eastwood who is joining Coventry City.
Contrary to some speculation, Iwelumo was not on big wages. However, players have to go out before others can be brought in and Richard Murray hinted at the bloggers' meeting that Iwelumo might be one of those to go. We simply have too many strikers: Gray and Varney as the preferred pairing with Todorov also in the frame and Fleetwood and Dickson to be used as required. McLeod's signing is now seen to have been a mistake.
