Charlton chase Scottish non-league ace

Charlton's search for non-league talent has now extended north of the border with Aberdeen sources reporting that the Addicks are interested in Paul Coutts who plays for Cove Rangers in the Highland League.

The 19-year old midfielder is currently on trial at Peterborough. However, a Cove spokesman said: 'Charlton have stated an interest in Paul, while an SPL club made an inquiry this week as well.'

s there something the board are not telling us, are we about to be expelled and forced to join the conference? Why this fixation with lower league players. However good they are they are risks and I am not sure we have the resource to take such risks at the moment in the hope for a future jewel.

I can exclusively reveal that Alan Pardew used to use the nom de plume Jonathan Ackworth

I think it should, just about now, be sinking in just how messed up our finances are.

I think the plan had been to sell ZZ, Bent, Faye, Bougherra and Big Chris to raise some money, then Pardew would have been able to sign some League (possibly even tier two) players/ However, with ZZ's summer schedule and Faye's inadequacies there is no money for anything other then non-league or free transfers.
